Craft Roundup

I'm assuming that if I want anyone to read about my homebody adventures, I should probably demonstrate that I have at least some skill.  The following are several projects I've completed this past year.  There are a bunch more, but I tried to edit it down.  As you can see, I'm clearly into painting.  Enjoy!
Lemonade painting above my stove.
Large wall painting for above the mantle.
My most recent set of paintings.  They're on thin sheets of metal to withstand the rain.

My first successful sewing project!
A recent summer time dinner.  I love all the fresh produce available at markets.

Lessons Learned

Almost a year ago to the day, I started law school at SMU.  During orientation professors, deans, and mental health advisors continually pounded the importance of staying grounded while in law school.

"You cannot study all the time."
"You have to continue to do the things you love."
"Law school will ruin you if it's the only thing you focus on."

But did I listen?  No.  A year later and for the first time in my life Little Miss Perfect had gone into a tailspin.   I was making poor decisions, had become a shell of the person I once was, and felt very, very lost.  I began to focus again on the things that genuinely make me happy, and realized that somewhere between the stress of school and life that I'd stopped doing those things.  This blog is a promise to myself that I won't again forget the things that make me, me and the things that make me happy.  It's my plan to maintain sanity with painting projects, sewing fiascos, cooking extravaganzas, and anything else my wannabe Martha Stewart mind dreams up.  I hope you'll join me for the ride.
